The positive response to the audio portion of the Fall-Winter edition of www.writingsbymonty.com has encouraged me to include two poems from my book Dirt Beneath My Feet - Sharing Poetry in this issue.  The first narrative poem is titled "Eavesdropping" and is based on observations from numerous road trip meals at truck-stop restaurants.  The second is titled "Being A Cowboy", a reflection of lessons learned from Saturday matinee cowboys such as Roy Rogers, Gene Autry, and Rex Allen.  Access them in the AUDIO POEMS section.

I'm nearing completion of the manuscript, Aging, Health, And the Athletic Mind Attitude. An excerpt recently appeared in Oregon Healthy Living Magazine.  Check out the article at www.oregonhealthyliving.com., December 2009 edition.  Click on Archive, title of article is "Patient-Athlete".

The poem, "Fly Fishing On The Rogue River" will be included in the Oregon Stories (Ooligan Press) book sponsored by the Oregon Historical Society.  This commemorative publication celebrates the 150th anniversary of Oregon statehood.

In the REFLECTIONS section, the legacy journal poem, "Along The Way" continues.
