THINKING OUT LOUD...

*It's been over a year since returning home from a stem cell transplant for Mantel Cell Lymphoma at Oregon Health Science University.  My sister, Carol Vernon, was the donor.  All goes well with manageable “road bumps.”  Although somewhat slower and more fatigued, it's great being engaged in life once again...*As the year comes to an end, a personal thanks for allowing me to share my writing with you.  Not only is writing healing therapy but it continues to be a vehicle for self discovery and awareness.  Also, I really appreciate the generous comments and encouragement of my efforts...*I’m currently working on three writing projects that hopefully will be completed soon.  Of course, narrative poetry continues to be the hub, always has and probably always will be...*A couple of suggestions to consider as the holidays approach - use breast cancer stamps for mailing Christmas cards.  It's a painless way to make a difference in the fight against breast cancer.  Last year over 50 million dollars was raised.  Also, please think about giving the gift of food (money, food, volunteering) to your local food bank this Christmas season...*R.R.R.- Recent Reading Recommendations – Out Stealing Horses (Per Petterson), Two Old Women: An Alaska Legend of Betrayal, Courage, and Survival ( Velma Wallis), And Now I Grieve (Ruth Maples), Motel Life and Northline (Willy Vlautin).
